Abstract
Drug interactions are one of eight categories of drug-related problems identified as events or conditions
of drug therapy that can affect the patient's clinical outcome. Hypertension is one of the main risk factors
for heart disease, congestive heart failure, stroke, visual disturbances, and kidney disease. This study aims to determine the treatment therapy for prescribing hypertension patients with comorbidities and to determine drug interactions that occur in prescribing hypertension patients with comorbidities at the Fatimah Islamic Hospital in Cilacap. Data were collected retrospectively, patient data was obtained from medical records to determine patient diagnoses and from pharmacy installation prescriptions. Data
were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and interacted using the Medscape application. The results showed that from 265 samples on prescription drug therapy for hypertension patients with comorbidities using hypertension drugs, namely Bisoprolol (β-β), Amlodipine (CCB), Valsartan (ARB), Furosemide (Diuretic), Ramipril (ACE-I) with other drugs Atorvastatin was the most widely used with 61 prescriptions (23.02%) and the most severe level of this study was moderate 131 cases (49.43%) Moderate interactions mostly occurred in adult patients due to the use of one or more drugs for chronic disease certain conditions or caused by complications of a disease, the severity level that occurs the least is the major level as much as 7 (2.64%).
